Africa Community Foundation offers research, training and economic empowerment of local communities in East Africa with the aim of eradicating poverty, and establishing economic sustainability among the local people.
Situation
Poverty still remains a major set back in the lives of many families in East Africa. Most families can hardly afford two meals in a day, and those that can are not receiving balanced nutrition. This leaves families with unhealthy bodies which are then subject to sickness and disease. As a result, many children die at a very early age.
Grace Community Fellowship, a church planting organization based in Bungoma Kenya, has established Africa Community Foundation (ACF), whose main goal is to see local communities solve their poverty issues by assisting them to utilize the potential within their community.

Mission
To sensitize, train, and initiate micro-businesses among local communities that will benefit both individuals and the communities at large.
Strategies

Conduct surveys within local communities to identify potential income projects in the area.

Sensitize and train the local community in creative ways of initiating new projects as well as upgrading existing projects to maximize on its potential.

Provide models through pilot projects sponsored by ACF as well as other organizations.

Provide grants and low interest loans to help members of the communities to start their own individual projects or to boost their existing project.
Sustainability
ACF is helping to establish local Community Base Organiztions (CBO’s) which will address the issues of poverty in their area. These CBO’s will be sustained through member share contributions, pilot project development, and donations made from both local and foreign partners.
Qualified personnel will be chosen to oversee all the operations of these CBO’s to ensure that the organization achieves its objectives, and excels to greater levels of excellence and productivity.
